The Committee would like to say a huge thank you to Padraig and Mary Donoghue of Supervalue, for their very generous cheque of €2000 which they presented to us on Thursday.
In 1968 George Colley, the then Minister for Education, recommended that schools in towns across Ireland amalgamate and provide a better range of education to our children. Ballinamore did just that. We are now forty years waiting for a promised new school building to replace the existing three school buildings, St. Felim's in the old railway station at the top of the town, Mean Scoil Fatima and the old VEC building.
